Biography

Daniella Oji started her music adventure since she was four. She was part of her church choir where she sang classical soprano from her childhood till teenage years. Her passion for music became more intense in 2007, when she made a distinction in the fourth grade exams at the Music School of Nigeria (MUSON). In 2010, she performed at the Peak Talent Show, and got a certificate of acknowledgement stating, ‘She’s got it!’.

She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in 2013 from the Crawford University, Ogun State, Nigeria. In 2014, she auditioned online as a wild card contestant for the MTN Project Fame West Africa 7th Edition. She was selected and eventually made it to the finals of the contest.

Daniella is a performer, a singer, a song writer, and an improving guitar instrumentalist. She was with the 960 Record Label in 2014 for a year. She performed at the 2014 Lagos International Jazz festival. She also worked with the Project Genesis Jazz Band from 2014 to 2015, playing jazz and funk genres of music. She released her first single ‘Waka Waka’, produced by music director and producer, Dare Amusan (Royalpriest) in September 2014.

In 2015, she was a classical singer and actor, in the first International Broadway Show in Lagos, The Magic of The Musical (MOTM), playing the role of Christine from the ‘Phantom of the Opera’, making her the first Nigerian woman to perform this role on Broadway in Nigeria and Africa. She also contributed to the writing and recording of the theme song for the show, alongside Efe, Cuebitz and  Kraftmatiks. In 2016, she was selected to play the role of Sister Mary Roberts for the Broadway show ‘Sister Act’.

Between 2016 and the first half of the year 2017 she partnered with Jogun Ogedengbe and Dare Amusan in the music company “Phact 101” creating soul, jazz and funk genres of music.  She released a Justin Beiber cover titled “Love Yourself” wherein the renders a soulful interpretation of the song. She has been in and out of the studio working on original songs which will be released to her fans during the course of the year.
